I ordered myself a present last night. I figured no one is going to know to get me this for christmas, and those that somehow would think of this as a great gift for me wouldn't actually get it. It's probably the nicest present I've ever gotten myself, aside from my computer. My words are: Girls, Donkey, Monster. Hope it turns out all right! Not that I'm worried. Panter is a personal hero, and a chance to own a personalized drawing for so cheap is something I can't pass up.

In other news, the new Kitchen Sink magazine is out, with another illustration in it by yours truly. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a letter from Fantagraphics' Eric Reynolds in there saying among other things, that they should give me more work. He's been really nice to me. I'm not sure what possessed him to include that in his letter, but I thought it was funny.

The most recent issue of Giant Robot is out a few weeks now, and it's a good one. Does anyone else pick this up? It's easily my favorite magazine, aside from maybe TCJ. They have really run with the whole "New Design" thing since the Superflat thing took off. GR was really one of the first big magazines to break Murakami, Nara and the others in the US! Since then, they've had interesting designers & illustrators on the covers and featured in every issue. My friend Souther is all up in that shit, since they're promoting a show he has at their gallery and a book that GR themselves are putting out! I'm really proud of him. I suppose it's only a matter of time before he's big time now that GR is pimping him. He deserves it, he's one of the most talented driven people I know, and he's also completely humble.
