  Daily/Rundown

10_15_08

I've started a new little project - these pedantic lists and observational drawings, I'm tentatively calling "Daily/Rundown".. Here's a link to the photoset, as I'm not sure just how often I'll post these here on the sg12 blog.

NOTES:
That GUS book I mentioned in the 10/11 entry is one of the best things I've read in a while. Blain is a pretty amazing cartoonist, and the stories about cowboy dudes looking for love and sex resonated with me.
10/15 was a crazy night and day.. My roommate/co-worker tom got doored while riding his bike and landed flat on his face. A bunch of us from work were there at the hospital all night and then took turns hanging out in his room the next few days. he's ok, but this is what he looked like several days later so you can imagine how bad it was/how worried we were the first few hours/days.
Oh yeah, the inner gears working in the drawing of Doug in the 10/15 pic is also a total shout-out to Christophe Blain, who does stuff like that all over "GUS", which I of course purchased on 10/11.
Anyhow, I hope this isn't too boring.
XOXOXO

Dark Haired Girls 1Dark Haired Girls 2

Just a couple of drawings detailing both the bane of my existence and the thing that makes it worthwhile....
Dark Haired Girls 1
Dark Haired Girls 2
And yes, I know Eye-Lazers are almost as played out as Zombies, but fuck it dude, I've been drawing that kind of shit since I was 5 and I'll be damned If I'll let anyone stop me from doing so now!!!!!

  Uncle Taiyo and Prince Dooey
Uncle Taiyo and Prince Dooey
Just a little gouache painting with some india ink via crow-quill pen drawing on top. As I mentioned before when I posted the line art for this, I was thinking about both Taiyo Matsumoto and Tony Salmons when I drew this, though I'm not sure if the Salmons influence shows through...

OOPS. Just realized I never actually posted those pencils over here. Here they are for comparison or whatever, if you're interested.
